Hi, this site shows a small part of the photos I made on two 6 week trips in Australia in 2001 and 2002. During these trips I became a real fan of birding. In 2001 we traveled 6000km: Cairns - Cooktown, Alice Springs - Uluru, Alice Springs - Darwin - Broome. In 2002 we traveled 9500km: Perth - Exmouth - Augusta - Albany - Perth and Adelaide - Sydney. We recently returned from a new 6 week trip to South Eastern Australia with 2300 of beautiful digital photos. It will take some time before the site will be updated but it will be a major improvement. All existing photos of birds we have photographed again will be replaced. A lot of new species will be added. Most interesting spots: Kakadu NP, Little Desert NP, Cape range NP, Ningaloo Reef NP, Great Barrier Reef NP, Otway NP, Mereenie Loop Road, Olgas, Nitmiluk NP, Litchfield NP, Windjana Gorge, The Kimberley, Yanchep, Daintree NP, Mossman Gorge. I used mounted color slides to scan all the picture shown on the website. Most slides where mounted between AN glass. This is not ideal for scanning but it gives a good impression. You should see the original slides which I made using a Canon EOS 5/EOS 3 and a Canon 100-400 IS L lens. At the moment almost all available bird pictures are
shown on the site. Some pictures have a sound link to specific bird calls in
the
Australian Broadcasting Corporation Archives.
I also made a lot of landscape and wildlife pictures these will not be shown on the site. This will have to wait for a return trip to australia with a new digital SLR. These files are in Real Audio format. You need the real audio player to play
these files.
The RealPlayer is downloadable and free from the
Real
Audio website.
Only part of the pictures is shown. If you have any special requests please send me an email. If you can help me out with the unknown pictures or if I made any mistakes identifying the birds please send me a mail also. Please do not copy any sound or image file without asking first. Commercial use is never allowed.
